The power of Mauritania takes a few days to sink in... I think I am opening up to it and starting to feel its magic and appreciate its flavorful culture. I like being in this part of the world,even though at the beginning I couldn't even believe that this place was on the same planet as whatever other place I had ever seen before! There's a full moon out tonight and its light is so powerful it lit the entire courtyard during the few minutes in which the electric power went off tonight. It's 11:20 pm and I still have sweat dripping down my face, streaming down my throat and neck to my chest... I wonder if the breeze will come at all tonight... Inshallah! (God Willing!)
