Happy New Year to all!!!!!! And Happy Birthday to all the Mauritanians whose date of birth, as indicated on their IDs, is on 12/31!!! :-))

After a very delicious and pleasant dinner with a group of 18 other friends, making twelve wishes and eating 12 grapes at midnight... I started the New Year grandly with friends and "incomplete" family (my sister and her crew, with my cousin and his crew) dancing and singing to the top of my lungs in Piazza Volta in Como with what looked like hundreds of people... finding old high school friends in the crowd and making new ones!
Dancing on tables in the club followed... and today my whole body is aching and my voice is gone! :-)
Nonetheless I am happy everyone got home safely and am now ready to enjoy the last few days in Italy before returning to... AFRICA! :-)

P.S. thank you Esh for waking me up this morning... it was great to hear the festivity sounds from Times Square, NYC!!!! :-)) I bet the atmosphere was just like in Piazza Volta, COMO not too different... eh! ;-)
