Aaron made it safely into Nouakchott yesterday but his bags stayed in Paris so we will be staying an extra night waiting for the next flight to come in... with the bags, Inshallah!

Our taxi driver from the airport was nice enough to offer to change money for us on the black market... and returned shortly thereafter with a wallop of Mauritanian bills: that saved us a much unpleasant trip to Marche Capital!

We got a lot done today and it's not even noon yet! We took our "passport photos", we went to the Malian embassy and applied for our visa to Mali, had a nice cappuccino and freshly squeezed orange juice, went to two markets and bought supplies for the cooperatives who gave me money and "order slips", picked up medical suplies from the medical office, arranged for a possible free air-conditioned ride to the Adrar region next week, and are now going to head to a restaurant and have some tasty, nutrient-packed lunch...before heading to the beach in time to see the fishermen pull their boats in, Inshallah!
